Description:

  • Two-Phase Stepper Motor: Typically referred to as "A" and "B," a two-phase stepper motor consists of two phases. Because of their low cost, drive compatibility, and excellent speed, torque, and precision balancing, these motors are used extensively.
  • Driving Pattern: A two-coil bipolar stepper motor is normally driven by alternating the current flowing through the coils. The order could be, for example, A+ B+ A− B−2. The motor is guaranteed to step through its places by this pattern.
  • Duty Cycle: The duration of each phase's energization throughout a step cycle determines the duty cycle. Each phase is activated for 50% of the time in full-step mode (half of the step cycle). The duty cycle is changed during microstepping to produce more precise positioning and smoother motion.
  • Holding Torque: A stepper motor's holding torque is very important. When the motor is stationary, this is the greatest torque it can produce. The motor's performance is impacted by the duty cycle, particularly in terms of efficiency and heat production.
