LEDs stand for Light emitting diode. This means that LEDs can be used as a light source or used for indicating a switch is active. You can use LEDs in a wide variety of ways, for example you can use 3-5 LEDs as a power strength indicator or as previously mentioned as an indication of an active switch or button.
