Power components are used for powering the circuit board. Even though certain components are passive and do not need power, they still need an energy flow through them to be able to do their part. Other components require an energy flow to be able to change the flow such as buttons stopping a flow for example. Some examples of power electronics are batteries, transformers and power supplies.
